The Methodist Church in Zimbabwe officially launched the Golden Jubilee Celebrations! marking 50 years of autonomy (1977-2027). The launch took place in Chegutu, during the 49th Annual Conference that was held from 20-23 August 2026 in Chegutu, Kadoma District at Nyirenda Gardens.
The launch was presided over by the Presiding Bishop Rev S. Sithole, who with great joy and spiritual authority, declared the Jubilee open.
Theme for the Golden Jubilee: “THE YEAR OF GOD’S FAVOUR” – Isaiah 61:1-2
As we enter 50 years as a church in the year 2027, we are stepping into a season of divine favour, restoration, and proclamation of the Good News. Everyone is called upon to embrace this year with thanksgiving and expectation. The launch set the tone for a year-long celebration of 50 years of God’s grace, faithfulness, and favour upon our church. Preparations for the grand Golden Jubilee are now in full swing.
